Important reminders from Klumpps
on getting the most out of fine leather and leather goods............
- Always hang leather coats on wide padded hanger.
- Do not store leather goods in plastic bags or other non-porous covers-always allow for ventilation.
- Allow wet or damp leather to air-dry naturally away from any source heat.
- Apply a little conditioner, such as Lexol (available at Klumpps) when leather is nearly dry to restore flexibility.
- Promptly remove salt deposits from shoes and boots in Winter. You can do this be sponging with clear water, then follow with treatment.
- Protect leather from very humid environments as much as possible, to prevent mildew. Also, avoid dry environments to prevent leather from drying out and cracking.
- Never use preparations made for smooth leather on suede of "rough out" leather. Use only cleaners or other preparations made specifically for suede.
- Do not use waxes, silicone products, or other leather preparations that impair the ability of leather to "breathe".
- Avoid leather preparations that contain alcohol or petroleum distillates, such as turpentine or mineral spirits.
- ALWAYS rely on the expertise of Klumpps to keep your leather goods as beautiful-as serviceable- as the day you bought it!
Thanks Again for Choosing Klumpps!
